Kristin Gorney
Alumni - Outside Hitter - Avon Lake, OH
Kristin played four years on the UM Volleyball Club team. She was a utility player that could play any position on the court, but became the starting outside hitter for the women's team.
Kristin started playing volleyball in the fourth grade. At the age of 12, she joined a Junior Olympic volleyball team. Her skills earned her a trip to the Junior Olympic Nationals. She continued to play for multiple teams all the way through high school where she earned the honors of captain and offensive MVP. Kristin was actually a setter until she reached high school. From then on, she was an outside hitter and a middle blocker.
She graduated from UM in 2011 with a degree in Advertising and Sports Administration. Much like her fellow alumni, Summer, Kristin has not been since her graduation. However, we know exactly where she is...near Cleveland. So we just choose to not see her.
Kristin has several interesting beliefs: Laughter can cure anything, Heaven is a giant tub of frozen yogurt which you must eat yourself out of, and when the clouds aren't moving, something mysterious is going to happen. She is also a huge fan of the Rolling Stones, Steak & Shake, and Oreos.
